1929 Hudson Mounting Brackets
The stock mounting bracket is on the left. The mount on the right was modified by grinding 5/16" from the curved portion on the lower right and by machining 5/16" from the bottom and left angle as shown. This allows the cast mounting bracket to fit into the frame as it did originally on the left but now it will clear the gas tank filler on the right
1929 Hudson Tail Light Mounting Arms
The original arm is shown on the left. The arm on the right has been modified by cutting off the top, turning it around and removing the sides of the license plate mounting bracket. The hole at the bottom of the arm is now on the opposite side for the mounting bolt. You may either cut it off, turn it around and reattach or weld the hole closed and drill a new one on the other side. I found it easier to cut and weld. When you install the unit it may touch the gas tank filler as you tighten the mounting bolt. This is not a problem as both the tank and the tail light are bolted to the frame. You can grab the filler neck and tweak it forward a little if you like.
